Our new dog Aaron

4 months ago Aaron moved in. And so here are a couple of pictures of hm .

After moving here we realized the bigger apartment and beautiful parks are the perfect place for a dog. So we visited a local animal shelter and fell in love with Aaron, a small German sheperd (who knows? who cares?) mix. He made very bad experiences in the 3 years of his life... He was born in Bulgaria and his owner died when he was still a young dog. Since nobody seemed to care for Aaron he was about to be killed, but a group of animal rights activists saved him and brought him to Germany. They believed a friendly young dog like him would soon be adopted - but he was not for 1 1/2 years. Because of his past (he must have been abused, but we can only guess what exactly happened to him) he was very scared whenever a stranger came to visit him, and more outgoing dogs were chosen over him all the time. When we met him first he was hiding in his dog house and jumped out of his collar. But we gave him time, went for a walk with him on several days and he began to trust us. So Aaron moved in - and he is the most adorable dog friend I can think of! He isn't as scared anymore (in the beginning he was even too sacerd to enter a room), learned how to play (he did not do this before) and gets along with every human being or animal we meet. An he is really clever and enjoys learning new tricks. Whenever one of us is missing he sits in front of the door until the family is complete again. And when I look at him, with his scars and missing part of the ear, it could bring me to tears, because his past was so horrible and he deserves so much better. I am glad we met him and could give him a home.
